Naya Rug for Metrocs
2025
The Naya floor rug is my latest collaboration with Metrocs, Tokyo. The design draws inspiration from vernacular architectural buildings, and the name Naya is taken from the Japanese for barn. The delicate striped pattern has a hand-drawn quality, and echoes the ribbed surfaces of lapped timber and corrugated iron.
The rug is crafted from hemp and wool in a workshop in northern Japan.
This is a work in progress - more images to follow shortly.
