I have a light high-ceilinged in South East London. All my fabrics are designed and sampled here on my peg-and-lag dobby loom.

Each new design begins with a storyboard where I gather visual reference, create a colour and texture palette and explore the narrative behind a piece. From here I move to design development – using scale drawings and paper collage to explore pattern, proportion and composition. Next comes sampling on the loom – I do this by hand and often try many variations of a fabric in order to get it just right. After I’ve signed off a new fabric I write up all the notes and specifications for our mills so that they can re-create it in every detail.

After the fabric is woven and finished it comes back here to the studio for the final stages of making-up, labelling, checking and packing. All the orders are shipped direct from the studio with care and attention at every stage.
