Making Sense - A Glimpse of the Studio

The other week I spent a lovely afternoon in the studio with old friends Yasu and Risa of design studio Mentsen, and photographer Valeria Armeni. Valeria caught the moment beautifully - as I talked Yasu and Risa through the process of weaving a fabric.

The images will form part of a book which will accompany ‘Making Sense’ an exhibition at twentytwentyone for London Design Festival, curated and designed by Mentsen. The exhibition showcases six small London-based studios across a range of disciplines including furniture, product, ceramics and textiles. It explores themes of process and materials, and offers an insight into the reality of running a studio in London today.

I am delighted to be included and will be showcasing my new Naya rug collaboration with Metrocs alongside my blankets and my latest hand-woven ‘tapestries’. I’ll be in great company with Elliott Denny, Jones Neville, Michael Marriott, Ian McIntyre and of course Mentsen themselves.

Here below left are Yasu and Risa in the Mentsen studio, and on the right you can catch a glipmse of some of their beautiful work.

Please see below for details - and hope you can join us!
